The AVS South Tyrol Alpine Association mountain rescue service carries out rescue operations for people and animals in need of help in the Alpine region and difficult-to-access regions across South Tyrol. According to a mandate from the Government of South Tyrol, this is carried out by almost 1,000 members from our 35 rescue stations.
The service has to be provided around the clock: 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The contract is carried out in close collaboration with the Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico, which has the same purpose as the AVS South Tyrol Alpine Association.
